Air Conditioning Ban Will Impact Millions of Arizona Residents
As if people didn’t have enough to deal with already, sources within the Arizona State Legislature have confirmed there will be a ban on running your home air conditioner this summer between 3:00 pm and 8:00 pm throughout Maricopa, Pinal and Gila Counties.
The Ban will affect customers of utility companies including, SRP, APS, TEP and City of Mesa according to Tom Monroe, Chief Operating Officer of the Commission for a Better Tomorrow.
Monroe confirms a “fine of up to $400 per day will be levied upon any homeowner caught using their air conditioning system while the ban remains in effect.” According to Monroe, the ban will begin on May 15, 2024 and could remain in effect through the Fall of 2025.
