You may not realize it, but your local utility is offering you cash rebate savings on new HVAC equipment and other repairs that reduce the energy usage of your home, as long as a qualified contractor with the proper Building Analyst Certifications, such as Magic Touch, perform the work.

Below are some current programs of interest. Your Magic Touch representative will be happy to advise you if any other utility rebates are available to you.

SRP wants to help you identify and improve the efficiency of your cooling and heating system. The Duct Test and Repair Rebate Program offers:

• 75% of the cost of duct testing (up to $75)
• 75% of the cost of qualified duct repairs (up to $175)

You must be a current SRP residential electric customer with an existing home (new construction is ineligible). You must have the duct test and qualified repairs performed be a Building Performance Institute (BPI) certified, licensed contractor (such as Magic Touch is) between May 1, 2010, and December 31, 2010.

Replace a heat pump or central air conditioner with a qualifying high-efficiency central cooling system, and you can be eligible for a cash rebate ranging from $200 to $400, depending upon the unit’s efficiency ratio and equipment configuration.

This program offers rebates to APS residential customers who replace their existing heat pump or AC unit with a new high-efficiency system. To qualify:

• Your new AC unit must meet the following minimum SEER and EER numbers:

• Your new AC unit must be installed by an APS Rebate Eligible Contractor (such as Magic Touch)

This program offers rebates up to $250 for APS customers to have a Building Performance Institute (BPI) Certified Contractor test and repair air leaks in their heating/cooling duct system. Magic Touch is a certified contractor and can help you complete your rebate form information.
